Problem Statement
Union Bank of Nigeria required a compelling identity for its annual employee recognition event—UBER Awards—one that would go beyond a routine corporate ceremony and become a meaningful internal brand experience.
The 2023 edition, themed Pathfinder Edition, needed to celebrate employees who demonstrated grit, excellence, innovation, team spirit, and exceptional diligence throughout the year. The challenge was to translate the “Pathfinder” concept into a premium event brand that would emotionally connect with staff, build anticipation across the organization, and reinforce a culture of high performance.
Additionally, the bank needed stronger internal engagement than the previous year, with increased visibility, excitement, and employee participation leading up to the event.
Solution
Mult Design developed a full-scale creative direction and event branding system that transformed the UBER Awards 2023 into an aspirational celebration of excellence.
We interpreted the Pathfinder theme as a symbol of leadership, courage, innovation, and forging new routes toward progress. This concept became the foundation for every visual and communication touchpoint across the campaign.
Brand Identity Development
We created a premium visual identity system inspired by movement, direction, pathways, light trails, and achievement. The design language communicated momentum and the pioneering spirit of high-performing employees.
Campaign Rollout Assets
To build anticipation and internal momentum, we designed a robust suite of campaign materials, including:
- Teaser Launch Designs to spark curiosity ahead of the announcement
- Official Launch Visuals introducing the Pathfinder Edition theme
- Email Designs & Internal Communications for nominations, reminders, and event updates
- Digital Countdown Assets leading up to the ceremony
- Nominee Announcement Graphics
- Social/Intranet Visual Assets for internal engagement
- Event Day Branding Materials including stage visuals, backdrops, screens, signage, certificates, and presentation assets
Event Experience Branding
Every attendee touchpoint reflected the Pathfinder narrative—from pre-event communications to the main venue environment—creating a cohesive and elevated brand experience worthy of the occasion.
Result
The event recorded strong engagement across the organization and was well attended by the bank’s top executives, leadership team, and staff members.
Most notably, staff attendance increased by 30% compared to the 2022 edition, reflecting the success of the internal campaign strategy, stronger anticipation, and improved employee buy-in.
The Pathfinder Edition successfully positioned the UBER Awards as more than an annual event—it became a celebration of culture, excellence, and the people driving progress at Union Bank of Nigeria.
